BB20 5250 HA – KANG-KALAHARI CATTLE AND GAME FARM
The land measures approximately 5km X 10.5km, and is located in the Kang area road. The location makes it ideal for the development of a lodge and/or campsites for passers-by on route from Johannesburg to Windhoek, via the Trans Kalahari Highway, to satisfy the growing demand for accommodation in the area.
1.2 Lease Agreement
The land is leased as per Kgalagadi Land Board Lease Agreement, issued during 2014, 40 years left.
The land is zoned for Cattle/Game Farming, +/- 5250hect, and also developed for the dual purpose of game & cattle ranching.
The perimeter fence consists of 30km+ game fence, combination steel and gum poles, 17strains, with a proper 10m wide fire break (7m on the inside and 3m on the outside).
The Game Area
The front half, approximately 6km by 5km, has been developed as a game farm, with a waterhole and 30km+ game viewing vehicle tracks, cleared for the purpose of firebreaks. A conservative approach to the development and management rendered the ecosystem minimally disturbed. Cattle were used previously through flush grazing controlling the lush vegetation in order to reduce fire risk.
A variety of indigenous game includes:
40+ gems buck, 100+ red hartebeest, 36+ kudu,
40+ blue wildebeest, Warthogs, Porcupine,
A variety of other small game can be spotted frequently on game drives, like porcupine, duiker, steenbok, squirrels and dassies.
Larger birdlife includes eagles, falcons and owls. Predators like cheetah, leopard and wild dogs have been spotted on the farm. These animals as far as we know, are not currently breeding on the farm. Because of raising small stock, we weekly patrol perimeter fences to discourage them from settling on the farm.Cattle ranching Area
The back half of the farm, approximately 5km X 5km, has been divided in two grazing paddocks by inner standard cattle fencing and 8m fire breaks. Each paddock is linked to the kraal development area, and is further divided into two, by 8m wide fire break.
